Introducing Yamaha Disklavier ENSPIRE self-playing pianos

Taking self-playing reproducing pianos to a new level of quality, accuracy and ease of use, Yamaha introduced the revolutionary Disklavier player piano in 1987 with the upright U1 based MX100A. The compact model MX80 followed shortly after, along with the first Disklavier C3 grand piano in 1989, known as the ‘wagon grand’ owing to its enormous, wheeled control unit.

Yamaha Disklavier soon became the last word in automatic piano technology, with examples found in homes, institutions, restaurants, recording studios and on cruise ships all over the world.

Improvements in sensor technology, memory and connectivity over the years have led to today’s eighth generation Disklavier ENSPIRE, the worlds most advanced and most accurate self-playing piano system, available on all Yamaha grand piano models and on selected uprights. Read more…
