Wittner are well known for the production of high quality precision metronomes and their traditional style wound models are tremendously popular the world over.
The metronome has a solid, plastic case which has a grained walnut finish. The front panel pops off to reveal the pendulum where, via a sliding dial, you can select the desired speed of the metronome. The click is a satisfying, mechanical sound which is much more pleasing than the digital beep of cheaper electronic metronomes. Inside the unit there is a precision wind-able movement which is wound using a small key which you insert into the side of the case.
This model has a variety of speeds - from 40bpm to 208bpm and is a brilliant addition to any music room, practice studio or study.
In the year 1895 an enterprising chap called Gustav Wittner founded a precision mechanical factory specifically for the for the production of metronomes. His son, Rudolf Wittner then gradually expanded the business which now occupies a well equipped and state of the art factory in West Germany.
