Graded hammer compact keyboard

Yamaha developed the GHC keyboard so they could achieve such an impressive compact design. The GHS keyboards used in the P-series have received high praise from customers for the excellent balance and ease of playing, and this new keyboard offers even better response than its predecessors, making it the best weighted acoustic piano-like playing feel in its class.

Upgraded with the sound of a full grand piano

Yamaha is well known for the quality and premium sound of their pianos, and with the P-225, you can enjoy the sounds of Yamaha’s flagship concert grand piano, the CFX. This model uses virtual resonance modelling (VRM) Lite technology to replicate the complex, expressive tonal changes that occur in the strings of a real grand piano, changing each time according to how the keys are pressed. Now you can enjoy creating the sound of a concert grand that’s been played and loved by renowned pianists.

The angle and position of the speakers on the P-225 have been adjusted to replicate the sounds reflected from the soundboard and lid of an acoustic grand piano as closely as possible. These adjustments let you enjoy playing with sharp and clear mid- to high-range tones and a prominent low-end for a well-balanced sound, even when the piano is set up against a wall.

This keyboard also features a two-way speaker system that delivers expansive sound, and the Sound Boost function lets you switch to something more punchy and powerful.

Take your music with you

The P-225 is more portable than the previous models, and includes many new features which will take portable pianos to a whole new level. This stylish, modern design takes up even less space in your room, so you can place it wherever you like. And thanks to Yamaha, you can easily take your piano with you to the studio, to parties, events, live gigs, on a trip, or wherever you go.

Smart Pianist app

By linking the P-225 with Yamaha’s dedicated Smart Pianist digital piano app, you can access all of the piano’s features and intuitively perform all operations from the screen of your smart device. There’s no longer any need to pull out the manual to see how things work.

The app also adds new possibilities for the player to explore and get creative with. Recordings can be done using the Smart Pianist app, making it easy for you to record both a video and audio of your performance. If you want to share your music on platforms such as YouTube or TikTok, Rec’n’Share is the way to go.

In addition, the Smart Pianist app comes with PDF scores which include 303 classical pieces for practice, such as Bayer, Burgmüller, Czerny, Hanon and more, which you can access for free and use on the screen of your smart device.

If you want to listen to your playing objectively or to practice only your right hand along with what you play in your left hand, the onboard recording function of the P-225 is just what you need.

Play music via Bluetooth

The P-225 features built-in Bluetooth audio, which lets you pair this instrument with your smartphone or tablet to listen to your favourite music through the instrument’s speakers and play along with the sound. An external adapter is not required.

Optional stand and pedal board

The P-225 is compatible with the L-200 stand and LP1 pedal board. Both the stand and pedal are sold separately.
